Basketball Recap: Homestead Skates Past Leigh with Ease

There's no place like home for Homestead, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Leigh Longhorns 61-27. With the Mustangs ahead 38-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Leigh saw an underclassman step up: freshman Demi Dobrila posted eight points and five rebounds. Catalina Williams was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Homestead now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Leigh, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Homestead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-41 loss against Los Altos on the 4th. As for Leigh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-22 win against James Lick on the 4th.
