Baseball Recap: Pace Academy Find Success

Pace Academy posted their closest win since February 27th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Landmark Christian War Eagles, sneaking past 5-3. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Nelson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Pace Academy is 9-1 when Nelson posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Caden Austin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Pace Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pace Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Landmark Christian, they moved to 10-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

When Pace Academy and Landmark Christian next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pace Academy will try to stop Midtown's six-game winning streak when they meet at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Landmark Christian will square off against Wesleyan and their eight-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
