Basketball Recap: Shade Takes a Loss

Shade played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams, falling 61-35. The Panthers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maleigha Younkin led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. Younkin has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Shyanne Schur was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Shade's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, their record is now 13-8.

Shade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-39 loss against Fannett Metal on the 21st.
