Soccer Recap: Monte Vista Comes Up Short

If Monte Vista was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of El Cajon Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monte Vista Monarchs fell 3-1 to the Grossmont Foothillers on Friday. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Foothillers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Monte Vista's goal came courtesy of Nyla Jack, who's now up to two this season.

Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for Grossmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8-1 record this season.

Monte Vista will challenge Helix at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Helix will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Monte Vista surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grossmont, they will host Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
