Softball Recap: Staley Triumphs

Staley lost to Blue Springs back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Falcons walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Addison Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Kramer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Baker-Laster, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Staley's record now sits at 12-10. As for Blue Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Staley will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Blue Springs South at 5:30 p.m. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. Blue Springs will be paying especially close attention to Staley's matchup: after Staley faces off against Blue Springs South, they'll take on Blue Springs again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
