Griffin got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mundy's Mill Tigers 5-3. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The win made it two in a row for Griffin and bumps their season record up to 3-16. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Mundy's Mill, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Griffin beat the Tigers by a score of 9-2 on Thursday.
