Basketball Recap: Jailynn Park Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Montrose

Wyoming Area was handed a 42-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the Montrose Meteors 38-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Wyoming Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jailynn Park, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 17 points. Those 17 points gave Park a new career-high. Londyn Sobeck was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

The win got Wyoming Area back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wyoming Area will take on Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montrose, they will head out to take on Holy Cross at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
