Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Centennial Golden Hawks
After a string of four wins, the Liberty Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Centennial. Liberty was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Centennial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Liberty's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Batten, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ellee Statler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Liberty will head out on the road to take on Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Frontier is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Garces Memorial at 6:30 p.m. Garces Memorial is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
