Softball Game Preview: Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights vs. Piedmont Academy Cougars

Bethlehem Christian Academy is 0-4 against Piedmont Academy since August of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will host the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Piedmont Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bethlehem Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Bethlehem Christian Academy earned a 6-1 victory over Apalachee. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Audry Torres made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Torres was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Shafer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Taylor Nash, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Academy fell victim to Brentwood and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the War Eagles.

Bethlehem Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Bethlehem Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Piedmont Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2020. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
