Baseball Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Johns Creek hit Gainesville with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Elephants came up short against the Gladiators, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Wednesday.

Gainesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cohen Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Gainesville is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-16. As for Johns Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

While Gainesville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
