Baseball Game Preview: Hercules Titans vs. Bethel Jaguars

For the second straight game, Hercules will face off against Bethel. The Titans will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hercules is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Hercules barely beat Bethel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 14-2 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

William Hobbs and David Silva Jr. did most of the damage at the plate: Hobbs scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Silva Jr. scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Hobbs is becoming a predictor of Hercules' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-0-1 (and 4-8-1 when he doesn't). Noah Ledesma was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Hercules kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Hercules has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bethel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
