Baseball Recap: Cary-Grove Comes Up Short

Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake Central pushed the score to 13-7 the last time they played Crystal Lake Central, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Trojans fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 13-7.

Cary-Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Bauer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Bauer's first of the season.

Cary-Grove dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Crystal Lake Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Coming up, Cary-Grove will challenge Dundee-Crown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crystal Lake Central, they will square off against Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
