Baseball Recap: Utica Triumphs

Utica won the last time they faced Lutheran Northwest and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Chieftains skirted past the Crusaders 2-1. That's two games straight that the Chieftains have won by just one run.

Utica's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Trotto, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Trotto a new career-high.

Utica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Utica back to even at 15-15. As for Lutheran Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-6.

Utica has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Lakeview on the 21st. As for Lutheran Northwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-2 defeat against Grosse Pointe North on the 22nd.
