Soccer Game Preview: Southview vs. Springfield

The Southview Cougars will take on the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Southview sitting on nine straight wins and Springfield on six.

Southview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Madison Comprehensive a 2-0 shutout. Southview's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Memorial typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Springfield proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Roughriders with a sharp 4-0 victory. Springfield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Kyle Mortus and Will Browning scored all four of Springfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 64 goals.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 17-1-1. As for Southview, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2-1.
