Basketball Game Preview: Chino Cowboys vs. Chaffey Tigers

Chino has gone 10-0 against Chaffey recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chino Cowboys will be playing at home against the Chaffey Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Chino is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Chino strolled past Diamond Ranch with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. The Cowboys pushed the score to 41-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Chino found their leader in sophomore Tess Oldenburg, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 12 rebounds, and ten blocks. What's more, Oldenburg also racked up seven steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. London Gibbs was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Chaffey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 41-18 loss courtesy of Upland. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Chino's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Chaffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Everything came up roses for Chino against Chaffey in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-36 victory. In that game, Chino amassed a halftime lead of 44-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
