Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Troubadours vs. Rocklin Thunder

The St. Francis Troubadours will take on the Rocklin Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.

If St. Francis beats Rocklin with 50 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. St. Francis snuck past Whitney with a 50-44 win on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Troubadours' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Wildcats are ranked 67th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Francis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydney Teoh, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayli Paeu-Lindgren, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Rocklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 46-35 to Del Oro. The matchup marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rocklin's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for St. Francis, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

St. Francis didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rocklin when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. Will St. Francis repeat their success, or does Rocklin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
