Softball Recap: Stratford Academy Takes a Loss

Stratford Academy dropped down to 11-10 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on September 11th.

Stratford Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Craddock, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Tattnall Square Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

On Tattnall Square Academy's side, the team relied heavily on Reese Covington, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Covington a new career-high. Carsyn Atwater was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stratford Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe First Presbyterian Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tattnall Square Academy will face off against rival John Milledge Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
