Basketball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Comes Up Short

Canyon Crest Academy was the 57-18 winner over Santana when they last played one another back in November of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens received a blow on Monday as they fell 38-20 to the Santana Sultans. The match marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Santana found their leader in freshman Sam Mora, who posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chopee Shiro, who put up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Canyon Crest Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Santana, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon Crest Academy will venture away from home to face off against La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. La Jolla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Santana, they are taking a road trip to challenge San Ysidro at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
