Recap: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens
The Torrey Pines Falcons won the last time they faced the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens, and things went their way on Friday too. Torrey Pines took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 58-26 victory over the Ravens. Considering Torrey Pines' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Torrey Pines was led to victory by Averi Kwok and Lily Oliva. Kwok scored ten points along with two steals, while Oliva scored 12 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kwok has scored all season. Grace Trusso was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Canyon Crest Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caroline Dysart, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thrisha Boopathi, who scored nine points.
Torrey Pines' victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
Torrey Pines has won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Tritons at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. San Clemente is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have will take on the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
