De Soto and Basehor-Linwood are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Wildcats will square off against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with De Soto sitting on three straight wins and Basehor-Linwood on nine.

De Soto is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-16 victory over Highland Park. Considering the Wildcats have won five matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of De Soto's win came down to the chemistry between Ben Parks and his top target Will Morton. Parks rushed for 112 yards and two scores on only eight carries while Morton rushed for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. The dominant performance also gave Parks a new career-high in passing yards (46).

De Soto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Basehor-Linwood didn't have too much trouble with Blue Valley Southwest on Friday as they won 28-10. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 89th).

De Soto better keep an eye on Carson Dixon. He was instrumental in Basehor-Linwood's win, rushing for 104 yards on only nine carries, while also throwing for 166 yards and one TD.

De Soto's record now sits at 7-2. As for Basehor-Linwood, their record is now 9-0.

De Soto came up short against Basehor-Linwood in their previous matchup back in September, falling 42-38. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
