Basketball Game Preview: Canon-McMillan Big Macs vs. North Hills Indians

The Canon-McMillan Big Macs and the North Hills Indians will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Canon-McMillan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Baldwin, who was ranked 24th at the time (Canon-McMillan was ranked 20th). Canon-McMillan took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Baldwin.

Despite their defeat, Canon-McMillan saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lauren Borella, who posted 13 points along with six assists and five boards, was perhaps the best of all. Borella has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Samantha Miller was another key player, putting up 15 points along with six boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, North Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-45 to Hempfield Area.

Canon-McMillan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for North Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Canon-McMillan came out on top in a nail-biter against North Hills in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 69-66. Will Canon-McMillan repeat their success, or does North Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
