Basketball Recap: Rise Kohyang's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Rise Kohyang was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-23 heartbreaker at the hands of the Los Angeles Leadership Academy Lions. The matchup was a 11-11 toss-up at halftime, but the Tritons couldn't quite close it out.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy found their leader in freshman Alexa Hernandez, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Quijano, who posted four points.

Rise Kohyang's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Rise Kohyang won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Orthopaedic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rise Kohyang's defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so Orthopaedic's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The School of Los Angeles at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
