The matchup between LaFayette and Calhoun on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Ramblers walked away with a 12-9 win over the Yellow Jackets. The victory was nothing new for the Ramblers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Marlie Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, LaFayette got a massive performance out of Tamra Yancy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Yancy has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Brooke Kelehear, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

LaFayette always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

LaFayette's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Calhoun, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaFayette will challenge Dade County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Ramblers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Calhoun, they will face off against Gilmer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
