Baseball Recap: Mount View Comes Up Short

If Mount View was riding high fresh off their 22-2 takedown of Orono last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 7-4 to the Lawrence Bulldogs on Thursday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Mount View dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lawrence, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mount View will challenge Old Orchard Beach at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lawrence, they will square off against Nokomis at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
