South Philadelphia easily dispatched Thomas A. Edison last Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The South Philadelphia Rams fell just short of the Paul Robeson Huskies by a score of 43-40 on Friday. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

South Philadelphia lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being India Brooks, who posted 22 points. Justine Cardona was another key player, putting up 14 points.

It was another big night for Ashley Robinson, who had 29 points along with eight steals and six boards for Paul Robeson. That's the most steals Robinson has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamyshia Shell, who put up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

South Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Paul Robeson, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Philadelphia will host High School of the Future at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. South Philadelphia is facing High School of the Future at the right time seeing as High School of the Future is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Paul Robeson, they will welcome Samuel Fels at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
