Soccer Game Preview: Gibbs vs. Clearwater

Gibbs is on a five-game streak of home losses, Clearwater a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Gibbs Gladiators will host the Clearwater Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Gibbs' offense. They came up short against Hollins on Thursday, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Clearwater scored the most goals they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Gulf an easy 5-1 victory. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 185th).

Clearwater's goal came courtesy of Isabella Sanchez, which was the first she's scored this season.

Clearwater's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Gibbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
