Baseball Recap: Northview Gets the Win

The Northview Titans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tucker Tigers 5-3.

Northview got a great performance from Ryan DiSano as he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave DiSano a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Northview let Daniel Tompkins and Bryant Gamble run wild. Tompkins scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, while Gamble scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Tompkins a new career-high. Graham Forney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northview's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Tucker, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Northview will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tucker: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
