Football Recap: Smoky Valley Vikings vs. Haven Wildcats

After flying high against Belle Plaine last Friday, Smoky Valley came back down to earth. The Vikings were dealt a 38-6 loss at the hands of the Haven Wildcats on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Smoky Valley still got an impressive performance from Jack Opat, who rushed for 109 yards and one TD.

Among those leading the charge was Brogan Wray, who threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. What's more, he racked up 167.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Smoky Valley fell to 2-1. As for Haven, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
