Basketball Recap: South Tahoe Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

South Tahoe had lost seven straight headed into Thursday's game, but Campbell Mathews didn't let it get to eight. The South Tahoe Vikings simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Dayton Dust Devils 50-23 thanks in part to Mathews, who posted 26 points along with eight boards and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January.

South Tahoe's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Dayton, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Tahoe will take on Yerington in a tournament on December 27th. Yerington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Dayton and Pershing County will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Pershing County's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Dayton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
