Football Recap: Shawnee Turns Things Around After Road Loss + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Shawnee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Van Wert Cougars with a sharp 45-24 win on Friday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jj Spyker had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 144 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 30 yards and one touchdown. Those 144 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Van Wert lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Micah Cowan, who picked up 147 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 103.7 receiving yards per game. Zach Crummey was another key player, having thrown for 265 yards and two touchdowns.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Van Wert, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
