Recap: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Orestimba Warriors
The Liberty Ranch Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Orestimba on Thursday as Liberty Ranch made off with a 57-32 win. The win was nothing new for Liberty Ranch as they're now sitting on three straight.
Liberty Ranch was led to victory by Summer Mccoy and Haley Smith. Mccoy scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Smith scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Mccoy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Robbins, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Orestimba's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlynn Bell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenessa Gonzalez, who scored six points.
Liberty Ranch's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.8 points. As for Orestimba, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Liberty Ranch and Millennium will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Millennium will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 906th, while Liberty Ranch is ranked 220th). Orestimba will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Denair at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
