Softball Recap: Rangeview Triumphs

Rangeview's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Vista PEAK Prep Bison 12-11. Considering the Raiders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jimena Vasquez was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diana Esquivel, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Rangeview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-10-1. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rangeview will square off against George Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will face off against Silver Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
