Basketball Game Preview: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns

The Torrey Pines Falcons will welcome the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. Torrey Pines will be strutting in after a win while Rancho Buena Vista will be coming in after a loss.

Torrey Pines took a 36-point defeat the last time they faced off against Oceanside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Torrey Pines came out on top in a nail-biter against Oceanside on Friday, sneaking past 42-40. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Pirates are ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Lily Oliva and Martina Griffin. Oliva had a solid game and posted ten points and five assists. Meanwhile, Griffin did her best for the losing side, putting up 15 points along with five assists and five boards.
