Meanwhile, Sanderson came up short against Middle Creek on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Sanderson was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Middle Creek's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 27-25.

Cary's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Sanderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
