Recap: Galeton Tigers vs. Otto-Eldred Terrors

This season hasn't been kind to the Galeton Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They lost to Otto-Eldred at home by a decisive 32-15 margin on Monday. Galeton lost against Otto-Eldred in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-21 score last time.

Despite the loss, Galeton had strong showings from Lynlee Basile, who scored six points, and Addison Reigle, who scored six points. Reigle scored a full 40% of Galeton's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Otto-Eldred's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayel Hakes led the charge by scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hakes pulled down eight or more rebounds. Kate Rhinehart was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Galeton bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Otto-Eldred, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Galeton will head out on the road to face off against Smethport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Smethport is ranked 523rd, while Galeton is ranked 504th). Otto-Eldred will be home for the holidays to greet Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Austin is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
