Softball Recap: Northview Chiefs vs. Baker Gators
Northview never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Baker on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gators a 12-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won six in a row.
Peyton Womack was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Kylee Langham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Daviona Randolph was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Northview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker struck out eight times.
