Basketball Recap: Carrollton Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Carrollton proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 48) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Langston Hughes Panthers 54-52. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Despite the loss, Langston Hughes still got an impressive performance from Jocelyn Faison, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Faison a new career-high in points. Kylar-Rae Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Carrollton pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Langston Hughes, their loss ended a 15-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-2.
