Softball Recap: Coahulla Creek Comes Up Short

Coahulla Creek extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 8-11. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgeland Panthers. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

As for Ridgeland, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Coahulla Creek since September 29, 2022.

For Ridgeland's part, Jordyn Thomas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in August. JaMiah Lewis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Coahulla Creek will head out on the road to challenge Rockmart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridgeland, they will take on Bethlehem Christian Academy in a tournament on Saturday.
