Football Game Preview: Gallup Bengals vs. Shiprock Chieftains + How To Watch

The Gallup Bengals will head out to square off against the Shiprock Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gallup will be strutting in after a win while Shiprock will be coming in after a defeat.

Gallup was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Crownpoint on Friday. The Bengals blew past the Eagles, posting a 52-0 victory. That 52 point margin sets a new team best for the Bengals this season.

Tristan Garcia had an outrageously good game as he threw for 257 yards and six TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. Those 257 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jayson Bruner was Garcia's top target, picking up 155 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Shiprock scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Zuni.

Although Shiprock took the loss, they still got scores from Blake Begay, Arnesto Manygoat, Akoni Clah, and Zach Billy.

Shiprock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Gallup, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.

Gallup might still be hurting after the 40-18 loss they got from Shiprock in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Bengals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
