Baseball Recap: Dakota Find Success

Dakota lost to Forreston back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cardinals. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

Braxton Mazurkiewicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dakota saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zeke Wales, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Wales a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Dakota and bumps their season record up to 7-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Forreston, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dakota will head out to face off against Morrison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forreston, they will venture away from home to take on River Ridge/Scales Mound at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
