Basketball Recap: Mission Oak Comes Up Short

Mission Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 42-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strathmore Spartans. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Mission Oak lost, don't look at Aiyana Murray. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Murray has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last six times she's played. Miya Centeno was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Mission Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Strathmore, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Mission Oak has already played their next contest (against Tulare Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Strathmore has already played their next matchup, a 32-15 win against Lindsay on the 28th.
