Soccer Game Preview: Alta Loma vs. La Serna

The Alta Loma Braves will take on the La Serna Lancers in a tournament on Saturday. Alta Loma will be strutting in after a victory while La Serna will be coming in after a defeat.

Alta Loma is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Rio Mesa on Friday as Alta Loma made off with a 4-1 win. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Spartans are ranked 692nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alta Loma hit Rio Mesa with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Melody Archibald, Rachyl Barry, Maiya Castaneda, and Leanna Valle.

Meanwhile, La Serna fell victim to Warren and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Bears.

With the victory, Alta Loma broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for La Serna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season.
