Football Game Preview: Bell Griffins vs. Anacostia Indians + How To Watch

The Bell Griffins are taking a road trip to take on the Anacostia Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bell will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Bell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Bell was ranked 11th). The Griffins blew past the Panthers 36-8 on Thursday. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Antonio Washington was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Hewitt, who threw for 201 yards and two TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bell's defense and their four sacks. Turner Simmons was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Anacostia started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Ron Brown. They took a 22-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monarchs on Friday. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Monarchs 6-0 in the first quarter.

Anacostia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Bell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Bell against Anacostia in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-8 win. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
