Softball Recap: Douglass Starts Season with Victory at Home

Douglass gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Marshall Bears a 12-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won five in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Marshall and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Douglass will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Midwest City at 3:15 p.m. on September 5. As for Marshall, they will take on Classen SAS at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
