Basketball Recap: South Gate Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Gate can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 68-35 loss at the hands of the San Pedro Pirates. The Rams have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Pedro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Sanford, who posted 18 points. Jamie Sanchez was another key player, putting up 15 points.

South Gate's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for San Pedro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-16 record this season.

South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Pedro, they will take on Harbor Teacher at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harbor Teacher will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something San Pedro surely won't give up without a fight.
