Softball Game Preview: West Fork Warhawks vs. Central Springs Panthers

The West Fork Warhawks will venture away from home to take on the Central Springs Panthers on Monday. West Fork's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Central Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Fork's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They didn't even let East Sac County on the board, marking the Warhawks' second-straight 8-0 shutout. Considering the Warhawks have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Central Springs had just enough and edged out Pocahontas 6-5 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

West Fork is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Central Springs, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-14.

West Fork beat Central Springs 4-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
