Corbin has gone 7-1 against Knox Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Redhounds will challenge the Panthers at 8:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Corbin was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against North Laurel on Monday. The Redhounds were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Jaguars. The game was the first time the Redhounds have beaten the Jaguars on their field since April 29, 2024.
Brady Webb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Trey Person was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Malachi Zachery was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Knox Central waltzed into their contest on Monday with 19 straight wins... but they left with 20. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Bobcats since March 21, 2024.
Trevor Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Corbin's record is now 21-16. As for Knox Central, their record now sits at 27-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corbin has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Knox Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Corbin's way against Knox Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Corbin made off with a 9-2 victory. Do the Redhounds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
