Soccer Game Preview: Encina vs. Foresthill

The Encina Bulldogs will challenge the Foresthill Wildfires at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Encina's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning by a score of 2-0. Encina haven't had any issues with Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Aaliyah Aguilar Moreno was the driving force of Encina's attack as she scored both of Encina's goals, bringing her season total up to 30 goals.

Meanwhile, Foresthill faced Futures in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wildfires were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over the Knights. Considering Foresthill have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Foresthill's third in a row) raised their record to 8-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three games. As for Encina, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
