Softball Recap: Westminster Beats Woodward Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

Westminster extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 3-0. They put the hurt on the Woodward Academy War Eagles with a sharp 16-7 win. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

As for Woodward Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked their highest-scoring match to date.

For Woodward Academy's part, Kaitlyn Weeks made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs marked the first that Weeks has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Maya Hatch, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Westminster will face off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodward Academy, they will square off against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
