Baseball Recap: Mount Vernon Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Mount Vernon nor Mount Pisgah Christian made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Mustangs fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

The loss snapped Mount Vernon's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-8 record. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mount Vernon is set to challenge their familiar foe Whitefield Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mount Pisgah Christian will square off against rival Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
